I lay in bed at 5.45 and tossed about. Great. One more hour to sleep.
At 6.50 I looked at the clock and I swallowed tongue.
Dashing like a pack of wild wolves chasing after a sexy nude woman, I ran to the assembly queue. 7.25. Another close call to lateness.
Clutching 6 Fox sweets, I went to return my borrowed science files. I gave LiLin 3 sweets of the same flavor unnoticingly. I’m sorry that sucked.
I dumped my iPad into the 3rd iPad locker outside the hall and by that time the facilitators in the hall were screaming their shit out of their bowels because it was already 7.55 and we were supposed to leave at 8. But of course, RVians are professional dawdlers. We finally set off to our respective venues at 8.20. NTU was a 7 minutes drive from RV, and I haven’t completed 3 full repeats of Gangnam style on the bus before we were dumped off beside an extremely Chinese looking building.
We were split into half, odd numbers one group, even numbers one group.
The odd number group went to the aircon exhibits first, while the even number group went to the sunny day exhibits first. I am in the even group. First we visited the Nantah Arch, which is the main entrance to the old Nanyang University prior to its redevelopment to the present Nanyang Technological University (NTU). There are actually 2 Nanyang university ( or Nantah ) Archs in Singapore, one original and one replica. This one is replica. The original one stands at present-day Jurong West Avenue 93, while the replica is located inside the Yunnan Garden of NTU. The original one can be seen while traveling on the MRT at Pioneer MRT Station.
After that, we went to the memorial, which was revealed on 30 March 1958 to mark the end of the first phase of construction for the first university of Singapore, Nanyang University (Nantah) that is now defunct. It is a significant landmark in the history of Nantah, unveiled by then governor of Singapore, Sir William Goode. It was gazetted as a national monument in 1998, honouring the donors who had contributed to making the establishment of the university possible. Crafted in Chinese architectural style, it has jade green roof tiles set on a thick-whitewashed stone column.
Sorry for the flurry of facts, I know I’m not one who does this kind of things everyday so bear with me throughout this post.
Finally, we moved to the aircon room, which I didn’t really pay too much attention in because it was too cooling to concentrate. It’s paradise, after spending nearly 30 minutes under the scorching hot sun.
Everyone bombarded the drink machine afterwards. 90ยข for a can of Aquarius isotonic drink. Not bad, not bad at all.
During debrief I was playing with Eunice’s phone but got caught by Mr Teo and was confiscated until after the trip which I had a tough time getting it back. ๐
We were the first class back, and the bus trip back took 5 minutes. We were fully ready by 11.20, after a 20 minutes break ( we reached RV at 10.55 ) but it was only until 12.45 did the briefing for the learning symposium start. I was engrossed in Fifty shades of Grey during the free time. It’s such an exciting book, sexually turning me on every single time without fail.
Eva and Benny are the cutest pair of twins I’ve ever seen ๐
That was somewhat requested by Eva ๐
I almost lost my phone on the bus, and I was about to cry and press the bell to stop and go back to find my phone, when I dug into my pockets. I cried in relief. I am so stupid.
If quizzes are quizzical, then what are tests? Nevermind.
Tomorrow will be a very very very very boring day. Haizzzz.
Butterfly, now I know why he disappoints me at times ๐
