I Wish

I wished people would care more, more about the little things that people don’t usually take into account. The little things that seem so insignificant but may mean the whole world to someone you are unaware of.

I wished people would spare a thought more for others, for the little pieces of hearts shattered all over the floor caused in a moment of hasty carelessness, for the heated waterfall threatening to roll out of one’s eyes to wet their eyelashes.

I wished people would be more selfless, for all the pains inflicted on others and you said never mind because it doesn’t concern you, for all the tears shed behind your back that you would never know.

I wished people would redefine the definitions of small and big, for all the world cares about is the ‘big and important’ things that the ‘small and trivial’ things are neglected, sometimes causing more harm than they can ever imagine.

Above all, I wished people would be more careful with their words, for the daggers they put through other people’s fragile hearts only to be taken as a joke. I wished people would be more sparing with their words, for the wrath of a mean comment should never be underestimated.

But that’ll never happen, will it?

Everyone still thinks they’re too superior, don’t they?
